Pastor Mensa Anamua Otabil was born in 1959. He lived with his parents Dinah and Lloyd Otabil at Asafo Street in Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Region, Ghana. He is the 4th born and the 3rd son in a family of 5 (4 boys and a girl). He is married to Joy Otabil and they are blessed with four(4) children (Sompa, Nhyira, Yoofi and Baaba Aseda).

Pastor Mensa Otabil is a Ghanaian theologian,
philanthropist, motivational speaker and an entrepreneur. He is the founder of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Ghana. There are also network of ministries of the International Central Gospel Church worldwide. He also serves as the senior pastor of Christ Temple, a ministry of the International Central Gospel.

He is the founder and Chancellor of Central University College, arguably one of the best private universities in West Africa. He is the CEO of Otabil and Associates (An executive and Leadership Growth Consultancy).

In his early years, he moved to Baka-ekyir (Sekondi-Takoradi) with his parents and attended Anglican Primary School near Gyandu Park. He later enrolled at the Community 2 No.3 Primary and middle School (now Mexico School) in January 1966 when his family moved to Tema because his father was promoted as the Personnel Manager at GIHOC Boat yard in Tema.

He attended Swedru Secondary School (SWESCO) in 1972 and completed his Ordinary Level Studies in 1977. He lost his parent whiles at school. He then moved to Roman Ridge and later to Kanda in Accra and joined the Kanda fellowship. He was employed at the Audio Visual Department of the Ministry of Information and met and worked with Edwin Donkor, who later became a pastor at ICGC.

On 26 February 1984, he started the International Central Gospel Church ministry at the Kanda Cluster of Schools, and later moved to Sal Valley School, also in the Kanda area. He struggled a lot but was very determined to serve The Lord.

Pastor Mensa Otabil has been awarded honorary doctorate degrees for his work in various fields. He has also received a Millennium Excellence Award. In 2007, he was honored by the Government of Ghana with a state award, Order of the Volta (Religion). In 2013, he was considered the 24th Influential Ghanaian, by a poll by ETV Ghana. In 2015, he was awarded as the "Most Influential Person in Ghana", based on polls organized by ETV Ghana.

Pastor Mensa Otabil has a done and still doing a lot of philanthropical projects. His Church has invested a lot in projects for the less privileged. He made donations to the Ghana Heart Foundation, constructed a boys' hostel for the Osu Children's Home and dug boreholes for needy communities.

He has published many motivational, leadership and devotional(living word) books. He has written many e-Books such as "5 Steps to Answer Prayer", "Anointed to Start and Finish", "Goal Setting & Goal Setting", "How to Be Filled with the Holy Spirit", "Turning your Weakness into Strength".
